Referring to your Confidential Despotal of the
oth. Au ust, I have the our to state tunt in pol saluting Miss
K. 4. Stollard's pension the value of her free quarters was not
taken into secount, in consequence of ar. Craiberlain's instruct-
-ions in the enclosure to his Despatch No. D of the ord. Jaunty,
611902, to the effect bunt officers then in the service who enjoyed
the privilege of free quarters would retain the right to count the
value of thair quarters for pansion purposes only witil their next
promotion.

This rule however should perhaps be regarded t
referring only to promotion within the Colony, and I am prepared bo
recommend that Miss Stollard should be allowed to count the value
of her quarters for pension at the rate of one-sixth of her salary.
Pension forms amended accordingly are enclosed herewith for trans-
-mission to the Crom Agents and Miss Stellard.
